Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about All-22 Review.
What is All-22 Review?
All-22 Review is a desktop film review application built specifically for football coaches. Import game film, tag plays with custom data columns, draw annotations on paused frames, build playlists, filter tendencies, create presentations, trim clips, and export cut-ups — all from one app that runs entirely on your computer.
What platforms does it run on?
All-22 Review is available for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel, Ventura or later) and Windows (64-bit, Windows 10 or later). Both platforms have the same features. One license key works on either platform.
Do I need an internet connection to use it?
No. After activating your license key once online, the app works completely offline. Your film, annotations, and data all stay on your machine. The app only needs a connection periodically to verify your license (every 7 days for monthly plans, 30 days for annual, once a year for lifetime).
How does the free trial work?
Download the app and start a 7-day trial — no credit card required. The trial includes all features and works on one device. When it expires, you can purchase any plan to keep using the app.
How many devices can I use?
Paid plans include 2 device activations. This lets you install on your school computer and a personal laptop. If you need to move an activation to a new machine, you can deactivate a device from the app’s settings.
How do I activate my license?
After purchasing, you’ll receive a license key on the checkout success page and via email. Open All-22 Review, go to Settings, and paste your license key. The app will activate automatically.
What video formats are supported?
All-22 Review supports MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI, MKV, and most common codecs including H.264 and HEVC. On Mac it uses the native AVFoundation engine; on Windows it uses mpv, which handles virtually every video format out of the box.
How do I set up my game folders?
Create a folder for each game containing the video files (one file per angle). Point All-22 Review at the parent folder and it will detect each game automatically. You can optionally include an Excel file in each game folder for play-by-play data — the app will find and use any
.xlsx file in the folder. See our Getting Started tutorial for a full walkthrough. Can I use my own columns for tagging plays?
Yes. The data grid is fully customizable. You can add, remove, and rename columns to match your breakdown system. Data can be imported from and exported to Excel with flexible column mapping.
How do annotations work?
Pause the video on any frame, then use the drawing tools to draw routes, highlight players, or mark assignments. Seven tools are available: freehand, line, arrow, rectangle, triangle, circle, and text. Annotations are saved per clip and persist across sessions. You can also take screenshots of annotated frames to share with your staff. See the Annotations tutorial for details.
Can I create playlists from game clips?
Yes. You can add clips from one or more games into playlists (also called cut-ups). Drag to reorder, auto-advance during playback, and export the entire playlist as individual clips or a compiled video. Each clip retains its original metadata for reference. See the Creating Playlists tutorial.
What are Presentations?
Presentations let you combine PDF slides and video plays into a single sequence for staff meetings. You can add presenter notes, drag to reorder, and walk your staff through your game plan with film and diagrams in one view. See the Presentations tutorial.
How does filtering work?
The filter system lets you filter plays by any column in your data grid. Filters use OR logic within a single column (e.g., “1st down OR 2nd down”) and AND logic across columns (e.g., “1st down AND Shotgun”). Active filters affect everything — the grid view, playback navigation, exports, and the Reports/Tendencies panel. See the Filtering & Reports tutorial.
What are Reports / Tendencies?
The Reports panel shows tendency breakdowns across three groups: Situations (Quarter, Down, Distance, etc.), Offense (Formation, Play Type, Direction, etc.), and Defense (Front, Coverage, Pressure). Each group displays expandable cards with play counts. Click any value to instantly filter to those plays in the grid and video.
Can I load multiple games at once?
Yes. You can load two or more games simultaneously. Playback, filters, and playlists all work across multiple games, so you can mix clips from different opponents into a single playlist or filter across an entire season’s worth of film.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
All-22 Review is designed for keyboard-driven workflow. All playback uses Shift + arrow keys so you can navigate film without conflicting with single-key annotation shortcuts (F, L, A, R, G, O, T). See the full reference on our Keyboard Shortcuts page.
Can I export clips or cut-ups?
Yes. You can export plays from the game grid or from a playlist. Choose between individual clip files organized into folders, or a single compiled video that concatenates all clips in order. Exports automatically include an Excel file with play metadata. Annotations can be burned into exported video from the game grid. See the Exporting tutorial for details.
Does the app update itself?
Yes. All-22 Review includes automatic updates on both Mac and Windows. When a new version is available, a banner appears in the app with the option to download and install. The update downloads in the background and installs with a single click — no need to re-download from the website.
What’s the difference between monthly, annual, and lifetime?
All plans include every feature. Monthly is $7.99/month and can be cancelled anytime. Annual is $79.99/year (saves about 16% vs. monthly). Lifetime is a one-time payment of $199.99 that includes all future updates forever.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Monthly and annual subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Your license remains active until the end of your current billing period. You can manage your subscription through Stripe’s customer portal.
